我认为是A cetacean, 因为 each指each of them, 指主语中的They, 即前面讲的cetaceans.
而且， zone with its own characteristic marine life讲得通吗？

each 指代ZONE。 Means each zone has its own characteristic marine life. 整句话翻译成：他们穿越分界明显的海洋地带，每一地带都有自己典型的海洋生物．

2.235词义 Based on his experiments, Von Frisch proposed that the dance indicates the location of food.             proposed和含义
A supported  B discussed  C intended  D hypothesized
答案是D, 我查英文字典propose=suggest 为何不选support?

我个人觉得这道题可能要联系上下文吧.因为句子的意思是说" 在他的试验基础上,VF认为..."这个地方有take it considertation的意思,并没有表示他support什么东西,而仅仅只是根据前面得出的一个猜想,或者说还没有得到证实的东东,因此和hypothesized意思更接近.
(当时这道题我也错了,也是想了很久

)
