I am a Canadian citizen. I am pretty sure I will not be egible for acquring federal and state student loan in USA. I will be able to get around 25% of the tuition financed by Canadian government. Will private financing sector in USA give me a student loan? Do they require any collatoral? What type of collatoral - guarantor or fixed assets? I did not get too much useful information from LSAC re international student's eligibility for student loan. I will start inquiring from the schools I want to apply. Chelsea you might know more about it. I will be appreciated for any help.
I do know there are various types of private loan available to international students. Yet i don't know how exactly they operate. Give you a link: http://www.internationalstudentloan.com/canadian_student/. Actually you would google out a lot such links. Read those terms and compare
To equest information directly from the schools is always a good idea. A few schools offer loan program to international students. NYU is probably among them. I am not sure though.
Not much i know about it. I'll have to start thinking about it too. since i have citizen relatives here to be my co-singer, i am sure i can get some kind of private loan. But the interest...u.uuuu
Good luck!
