23. The workers at Bell Manufacturing will shortly go on strike unless the management increases their wages. As Bell's president is well aware, however, in order to increase the worker's wages, Bell would have to sell off some of its subsidiaries. So, some of Bell's subsidiaries will be sold.

The conclusion above is properly drawn if which one of the following is assumed?

(A) Bell Manufacturing will begin to suffer increased losses.

(B) Bell's management will refuse to increase its worker's wages.

(D) Bell's president has the authority to offer the workers their desired wage increase.

(E) Bell's workers will not accept a package of improved benefits in place of their desired wage increase.

THE answer is C，I think it‘s irrelevant with the context，why not D，waiting for NN，thanks

E肯定是无关项啊，文中没有提到过a package of improved benefits 啊，更谈不上工人接受不接受了，但文中提到除非提高工资，否则就罢工，且经理意识到了这点，所以去卖辅助设备，说明经理有这个权利决定加工资这个事情，但C说什么工人不会马上罢工，感觉牛头不对马嘴的事，请大牛指教

原文推理：not strike---->increase wage----->sell off subsidiaries。结论：sell off subdidiaries

从上面逻辑链可看出要推出结论，必须假设not strike 或increase wages。

我学的TESTMASTER专门介绍过此类题，即有IF，UNLESS这类逻辑关联词的题目的做题方法，就是用形式逻辑的方法去推，严格按照题目给出的形式列出逻辑命题，再按逆否啊之类的方法去推。

用这个方法的话，肯定是C。其他都是无关的

把C取非，即The workers at Bell Manufacturing will be going on strike---》not increase wage----》not sell subsidiaries，原文结论sell subsidiaries，这个还能被看作削弱结论吗？还是完全与结论对立了？

strike简称为：S

increase wages:简称为I

sell subsidies 简称为:su

根据条件：IF非I 则S 这一命题的逆否命题为：IF非S 则I（学过形式逻辑没？没学过的补一下，很简单的）

IFI 则SU

所以可推出 IF 非S，则SU

选C

这是充分型假设（就是假设了那个选项，原文结论一定成立），不是必要型假设（下列那个选项是原文的假设），不能用选项取非的方式去验证答案，因为答案不是结论的必要条件，而是原文结论的充分条件

谢了，大律师，每次都非常耐心得讲解，以前只知道假设肯定是结论得必要条件，至于充分型，必要型没怎么注意过，又学到一样，非常感谢
