觉得A答案Despite后就只有一个growing number的成份，跟just as 后的句子形成的对照十分奇怪，答案E倒是完整，可是太冗长不简洁了，希望大家指点迷津啊。还有就是Despite这个次的用法，我见过跟名次短语的也见过跟句子的，到底是怎么用呢？

做题要抓核心。这道题一眼上来就可以排除CDE，prefer 这个词很关键，后面应该跟to, 而不是 compared with 神马的。从AB来判断，B中that...不行。 just as ...., ....应该是两个句子成分。再说到despite 这个词，通常用为介词，介词后面常跟名词，名词性短语，名词性从句等。所以despite the growing number 是合理的。当然后面也可以跟 despite the fact ....这个也很常见。做SC题，要有大局观，迅速找出不同选项的差异，大部分不止一处，所以不要纠结于一点。然后细节判断。加油吧
