标题: GWD一道题求解

Scientists believe that unlike the males of most species of moth, the male whistling moths of Numbing, Australia, call female moths to them by the use of acoustical signals, but not olfactory ones, and they attract their mates during the day, rather than at night.

B. by the use of acoustical signals instead of using olfactory ones, and attracting

选项：

A. By the use of 可以修饰call也可以修饰主语，修饰歧义；

B. By the use of 可以修饰call也可以修饰主语，修饰歧义；attract的平行对象应该是call而不是use;

C. By using可以修饰call也可以修饰主语，修饰歧义；

D. 正确；

E. attract的逻辑平行对象应该是call而不是use.

对于ABC选项中说的既可以修饰主语也可以修饰call不太明白，by 作为状语的结构修饰的对象为什么会有歧义？

我不同意By结构可以修饰主语的说法，这里不是独立结构，所以就算作定语也是修饰them，何况这里是做方式状语修饰call。

by没看出来能修饰主语，但是V>A>N的原则，by the use of不如by using清晰和简洁。

Leo》不平行，前者是by引导的介词词组，后者是副词+名词；

B. by the use of acoustical signals instead of using olfactory ones, and attracting
Leo》wrong idiom，instead of用于两个名词间的比较；
Leo》结构不平行，前者是by引导的介词词组，后者是副词词组instead of+动名词；
Leo》结构不平行，and attracting 找不到与之平行的对象。

C. by using acoustical signals, not using olfactory ones, and by attracting
Leo》不平行，前者是by引导的介词词组，后者是现在分词，应改为not by using olfactory ones才能够平行。
Leo》and by attracting改变了句意。本来是call female moths和attract their mates平行的。

D. using acoustical signals, rather than olfactory ones, and attract
OA，但是我有话说！！
Leo》using引导的现在分词前面没有逗号，不是独立结构，不可以做状语，只能做定语，修饰them，这样句子意思就变调了。
也许这就是为什么OG10之后把这个例句移除了，你会发现OG13里没有这个例题了。

E. using acoustical signals, but not olfactory ones, and attracting
Leo》and attracting和using平行，改变了句意。本来是call female moths和attract their mates平行的。
Leo》using acoutical signals，but not olfactory ones我认为可以接受。
这个结构好比，using A， but not B，如果说这个结构不平行，那么D选项当中的 using A, rather than B,也不平行。

很详细==一开始没考虑到平行的问题不过我觉得这里的平行考的不是很规范你觉得捏

对的，一战复习了2个礼拜不到690，二战复习了35天的样子才710，现在决定三战。。。目标730

想问一下D里面的“逗号+and attract”用法有错吗？？？
曼哈顿语法中不是说过逗号+and 后面必须连接一个完整的主句吗???
