标题: 关于except的idiom 用法
Mauritius was a British colony for almost 200 years, excepting for the domains of administration and teaching, the English language was never really spoken on the island.
(A) excepting for
(B) except in
(C) but except in
(D) but excepting for
(E) with the exception of

我看了Manhattan没有except in啊
有哪位大神可以解释下吗？

我不是大神，简单说说我的看法哈：

这里的in其实不是和except搭配的，真正的搭配是：in the domains of administration and teaching，所以句子的意思是：M是英国殖民地，但除了在管理和教育领域以外，英语在岛上从来不用。
