(2)介宾比较 A do sthof C1 by D1 than of C2 by D2.（C1C2，D1D2对等名词）

错:The clothes inside the store looked more appealingthan outside the racks.,不是介宾比较

对The clothes inside the store looked more appealing than did thoseoutside the racks.

这个一定要是介宾是什么意思？为什么只有介宾短语才能直接跟在than后面啊，有神马玄机吗

我觉得是因为comparison must be structurally parallel.结构上要平行，前面的对象是The clothes inside the store，后面相应的应该是The clothes outside the store.
不知道这样理解对不对。
