标题: 有道简单的题问问，想不懂啊~~~
At the time of the Mexican agrarian revolution, the most radical faction, that of Zapata and his followers, proposed a return to communal ownership of land, to what had been a pre-Columbian form of ownership respected by the Spaniards. 请问that of Zapata and his followers 里的of 指的是什么哦

that of 是指the most radical faction吧？没有原题看着好不舒服。。。
而且后面那个to what had been。。。看上去是对communal ownership of land的补充说明？

LZ能把原题po出来么？

你说的是对的哦，可是有that of XX用法，that 后加of 怪怪的

变成了At the time of the Mexican agrarian revolution proposed a return to communal ownership of land？revolution不会propose吧？

看题目貌似不是划线部分，那就是说that of...和主语关系不大才用插入语的形式表达，这里的that不是定语那样的that，而是代词that，指代faction，去掉这个部分也没关系，只是起到了进一步解释作用。
At the time of the Mexican agrarian revolution, the most radical faction, that of Zapata and his followers, proposed a return to communal ownership of land, to what had been a pre-Columbian form of ownership respected by the Spaniards.
　　(A) 是对的，我的猜测：to what had been...是类比结构，意思是正如一种被西班牙人所尊崇的前哥伦比亚形式的所有权。也可这样理解：what指代了前面a return to communal ownership of land.

　　(B) 错误，respected by...是ownership的定语，最好放在一起；而且ownership of the pre... wordy

　　(C) 错，如B，且后半句的动词不应该是respected

　　(D) in which 引导的从句修饰land，与原句意思不符，而且也不需要有逗号

　　(E) 错误，that引导的定语从句一般直接修饰紧邻名词，意思也不对
