musicians是人，不能用that修饰的，用who。

关系代词指人时，如果是限定性定语从句可以用that代替who吧？
比如：he is the man that i saw yesterday

但如果是非限定性定语从句不能用that：像文中的例子 many musicians, that included Elvis Presley and Jerry Garcia，是这样吗？

白先勇的语法书上说 that included Elvis Presley and Jerry Garcia就近musicians, musicians that included Elvis Presley and Jerry Garcia 是逻辑意思不合理是什么意思哦

白勇的分析是指that include XXX可以理解成musicians包含Ep和JG，物理范围上包含，就像人身体里包含各种器官一样。这样逻辑上就不对了。而including可以排除这种歧义。

上面是曼哈顿论坛上有人提问that指代人的问题，instructor的回答。没法贴截图，所以我复制了下，有点乱。平常英语里用that指代人没问题的。尽量还是用who，whom吧。

你说的这些例子从逻辑上都是可以排除的，father不可能是family这种概念的物理上的一部分，所以include是包含的意思。但是musicians是人，物理上有身体，有手有脚之类的。我觉得还是我们不习惯英语的思维，去问老外，老外就会反应：不能用include啊，用include读起来怪怪的。但是我们说汉语的就体会不了哪里奇怪了。我们先入为主的就认为that include中include是概念上的包含，而不是物理上的。
