it 指代lying，句首非谓语写到 psychiatrists（逻辑主语）recognizing lying怎样怎样，所以主句中psychiatrists are seeking to determine的从逻辑来说应该是lying的相关信息，并且从语法上来说it代词优先指代前面从句的主语。
