标题: [求助]句意為重 (如何訓練一看到題目就知道正確句意)
我覺得很多時候 規則知道,但還是選不出來,或則還是很不確定
我一直在想到底是什原因,我想要做對題目,我們不僅僅要了解語法規則,最重要的是
要了解句意(到底在表達什麼)
像是which ****** 的修飾 如果能夠知道*****要修飾的是什麼,會對做題有很大的幫助
往往題目有些會混淆妳 修飾對象好像 A 也對,B也對...這就是我最困擾的地方
請問各位高手,不知大家有沒有什麼辦法可以解決我的困擾? 給我一點方向
在此舉個例子

一看到這個題目,我不知道 which 到底是指 effects 還是 the use
兩個都有可能? 所以在做題上會很困擾
請問各高手 我應該如何改善呢? 非常謝謝

个人觉得从文法上讲应该都可以，但从句意和逻辑上分析，我觉得which是修饰significantly compounding the effects of drug and alcohol abuse， 由于compounding一词，which 只修饰effect或abuse都不确切。并且，此题考得是cost的用法。sth cost sb(sth) 。。。是最常用的用法。原文中的表达一是别扭，二是有歧义, a cost to business of more than 100 billion, 给人的感觉是"100 billion"是修饰business，但按照句意理解应该是修饰cost.

大部分同意SJM版主的分析。但我觉得，这里which是修饰the effects of drug and alcohol abuse, 即, The (bad) effects of drug and alcohol abuse already cost business more than 100 billion. 印象中GMAT中which是严禁修饰句子的。加之which在GMAT中与被修饰词之间的就近原则，所以从修饰词从逗号往前找语法/句意/逻辑上吻合的词就对了。所以请yvonne09122001同学大可不必考虑很遥远很遥远的the use了。
