标题: 请教5个语法题
有几个语法题，看了答案，感觉知其然但不知其所以然。我的想法写在题目下面。先谢过了诸位。

1. Canadian scientists have calculated that one human being should be struck every nine years by a meteorite, while each year 16 buildings can be expected to sustain damage from such objects.

D. every nine years a human being will be struck by a meteorite
E. every nine years a human being should be struck by a meteorite

我选了E。正确答案D。请问为什么在此不用should而用will？是否will表示事物的自然倾向而should表示意愿？但should应该也有推测推断的含义不是么。

2. Since 1986 when the Department of Labor began to allow investment officers’ fee to be based on how the funds they manage perform, several corporations began paying their investment advisers a small basic fee, with a contract promising higher fees if the managers perform well.

我选了C。正确答案D。我的问题：是否allow只能加to do不能像suggest/recommend一样加(should) do？

正确答案D。我的问题：E的倒装用法，错在了哪里？

C. a higher number of family dwellings per capita than does any other large city

正确答案C。我的问题：我觉得正确说法应该是than any other large city (does)。C答案把does给前置了（是倒装句？），也是正确的吗？

5. Whereas the use of synthetic fertilizers has greatly expanded agricultural productivity in many parts of the world, an increase in their use can create serious environmental problems such as water pollution, and their substitution for more traditional fertilizers may accelerate soil structure deterioration and soil erosion.

正确答案A。我的问题：C选项错在哪里了？是否是表述不够简洁（effectiveness）？

1、should有应该的意思。
2、that fees错误，指代不清，那个fees，上下文判断不出that fees是哪个。gmat考试里面this that these those不可以随便加在名词前面噢，加了，就要找对应的。
3、of是介词，介宾介宾，宾语提前当主语了，谁来做of的宾语。
4、我也不懂，求解。搜到了原题，应该是矮子里面拔高子了，假如有一个a higher number of family dwellings per capita than any other large city做选项，肯定更好。
5、whereas.....,if.....,they...and if....., they...... 见过从句里面套从句的，.........that if......., they.......，没见过在主句里面套从句的，这个whereas.....,if.....,they...and if....., they...... 就是在主句里面套从句。

陋见供参考。

以后一题一题分开问多好，一次问5个回帖人心里压力也很大啊。。。

1. E那句话的意思是说有人九年应该被砸一次么。。。真狠心。。。

2. allow that后面不用虚拟语气，只有allow to do或者allow doing

3. 。。。这道题我觉得ADE都挺对的。不过话说回来，A和E都解决不了后面未划线部分的they指代问题，只有D分别用了单数和复数所以不会出问题，优选D吧

4. 主语比较的时候do放前面放后面都可以，前置反而更常见。

5. C选项的问题在汉语里叫杂糅，或者说是不平行。前面whereas用的好好的后面又冒出来if了。虽然whereas不要求前后句子绝对的平行，但是整出个if来还是不能忍了

一次回复五道题版主还不给我加精么。。。

表示完全同意，其中2、3里你提到的错误比我讲得更直接。

我第二题看错了，allow that的从句，我竟然看成了that fees，自戳双目！！

第三题那个，我在原贴中说错了，不是倒装，是被动。我现在在猜，是否是英语中不能用"may be done"这种被动表述方法。

第一、二题我同意，先这么死记硬背。

第四、五题多谢ayoyoyo的指教，我同意你的观点。

think的用法有两种：1）think of ...as 2) be thought to be
明确说明be thought of by as是错误的用法
