Hello there good sir,
Thanks for dropping by!
So first of all, your self-evaluation is very good. You have a lot of good stuff in your profile (and like everybody, some weaknesses J )
The strengths of your profile are: Your GMAT, your great work experience, your leadership and your international exposure. So off to a great start!
The two challenges in your profile are:
1. Your background as an older candidate from China.
2. Your so-so grades.
For the first one, which is the bigger challenge, the BEST thing you can do is to SHOW how your goals and dreams and story makes sense. Which is why my first piece of advice to you is to change your goals. An industry change is possible, but it needs to make sense, and the problem is that EVERYONE wants to move into IB, but only few people do, and mostly at young ages. So you can keep it as your secret dream, but I don’t recommend writing it in your application because it might harm your chances. Instead my suggestion to you would be to provide goals in upper management in your insurance industry, which should be a lot more believable.
As for your goals, Top 10 schools will likely be a stretch. But think about Johnson, UNC, Tepper, NYU, Oxford. UCLA can also be a good choice. Tuck and Duke can work, but will be tough (but it’s great to have one or two dream schools in your profile).
I hope this helps you out, and if you have any other questions at all, do not hesitate.
