这句话是属于同级比较省略还是as引导的定语从句？

首先not the same as是固定句型没疑问
其次  as是可以做conjunction连词的，后面跟完整的句子来修饰person，这样看来as连接一个定语从句可以读通
但是，再次，
我正好复习到曼哈顿讲parallelism这一章，其中提到了
idioms with built-in parallel structure——列举了 X is the same as Y也遵循此平行原则

我又更新了，楼主，找到了依据，应该这个是as引导比较从句的省略原则的体现。
依据1：从句意的角度，就是在比较he的过去和现在不一样，这个最直接。
依据2：as引导比较从句时，当的从句谓语与主句相同，可以保留系动词。

其实我觉得as引导的定语从句有点连词加关系代词的感觉，即and+先行词+关系代词
则:
he is not the same person as he was before.
=he is not the same person and person who he was before.

=he is not the same person and he was person before.

如果这里是对比的话，是是否要变成

he is not the same person（now） as he was before

因为原话找不到时间的对比？
