The board is investigating the compensation packages of several executives in
order to determine how much THEY may have been improperly awarded.

曼哈顿说Gmat will consider the above sentence correct...
问：为撒LZ觉得they是既可以refere to executives, 又可以refer to pacakges, 所以是ambiguity?
      how much我觉得接packages/executives都可以
   接packages表示，这些人的薪酬，有多少是不应得的 how much (money of)the packages may have been improperly awarded
   接executives表示，这些人有多少钱是不应得的how much (money) the executives may have ben improperly awarded
都没问题啊
为啥曼哈顿说这个句子没有指代不明的问题，they就是指executives呢

package 怎么被 award?

award 是授予、颁奖
award sb. sth.
sb. is awarded sth.

I am awarded 3000 Yuan.
You can't say: 3000 Yuan are awarded to me.

sth. be awarded to sb.和 sb. be awarded sth.两种表达都是存在的吧？

GMAT经常出现这种会让我觉得指代不明，但解释答案却又没有提及指代不明的问题。。。
