在manhattan里pronouns里说 that antecedent to which you want to refer must actually exsit in the sentence as a noun.在这里 them 指代women 我理解women作修饰性作用修饰了work ，但按照答案的说法 women 在此处就是名词的作用，对此不是很明白，求解

首先，DE用like,主语不对等，秒死。
B也秒死，In Hungary与 as with much of Eastern Europe中的with介词不同，秒死。
剩下AC，A中which不可指人，只能指物，A也错。只剩C。
C中them前面只有一个复数名词women，只能指代women。
你的问题说明你对句子结构掌握不扎实：
In Hungary, as in much of Eastern Europe, an overwhelming proportion of women work, many of them in middle management and light industry。
介词短语，比较介词短语，主语 an overwhelming proportion of women，谓语work，many of them in middle management and light industry独立主格补充说明主句women的性质。
women不可能做副词修饰动词work，如果women做定语修饰名词work，则整句无谓语动词了。
