答案选C 我知道whose和who平行想请教的不是关于这个平行的问题

想问的是 C选项中有and衔接的小平行reputation declines afterdeath and never regains its former status

根据平行规则 regains 和declines 共用主语reputation 是吗？可是reputation怎么能regains its former status呢？难道不是人regains its former status吗？

its former status已经暗示了主语不是人，reputation是主语。
whose reputation regains it former status,意为：（某人的）声誉重回之前的状态，语义明确通畅。
sb regains his former status，意为：某人重回他/她之前的状态，这个“状态”的范围可就宽广了，可以是身体状况，心理状况，甚至是财富状况，不一定就是“声誉”啊！

你问的不是语法题，是理解句子的问题。

但是为什么status在这里不理解为地位呢？某人重回之前的地位这个理解也是可以的
it在不清楚人的性别的时候可以指人也就是句中的composer 如果这样的话不就是属于有歧义吗？

我看到的不知道性别的时候用his或者his or her都可以。it只有在婴儿不知道性别的时候可以用，可那些人肯定不可能是婴儿的。
即使status可以做“地位”理解，那你想说这道题没有正确选项吗？

不是想说没有正确选项啦
只是对正确选项有疑问而已所以上来求教

最优的情况肯定会选择C啊因为别的错误很明显但是不懂的话还是弄清楚更好不是吗？
