A.过去分词修饰最近名词sloth，错！根据句意，应该修饰fossils
B.that作为定语从句引导词应该没逗号，错！
C.that作为定语从句引导词修饰的是最近的名词sloth，错！
D.correct
E.which作为定语从句引导词应该有逗号，错！

启示：A和D的区别在于有无逗号。
A没逗号，过去分词修饰就近名词
D有逗号，过去分词修饰整个名词词组
