虽然选对了（答案E），但是还是有几点疑问。答案解析和网上其他论坛对该题的解答(http://gmatclub.com/forum/polio-although-it-is-eradicated-in-the-united-states-it-114066.html)认为D选项没有任何错误，只是比较wordy。那么问题：1.D选项中having been这种ing结构的一般现在时用在这里真的没问题吗？2.be capable of 和 could真的没区别吗？（我筛选D E答案的时候是针对be capable of和could筛选的，我认为的是be capable of 强调的是一种主观能力，could不强调这点，因此去掉了D选项）

D里，开始觉得having been可以，当一个名词modifify来修饰polio，后来觉得不对，although后面不是都是完整句子么？

be capable of，我和你的想法一样，主语是polio，这里翻译成中文，就是 polio有能力被游客带回到美国。感觉不通

although后面是可以跟一个modifier的，如：Although grumbling sometimes, he works hard. （《现代汉英大词典》）

嗯，你是对的，og13里也的确有although引导不是svo，当修饰的句子。类似的情况，在曼哈顿CAT里也有
