疑问：1.D选项中能看懂平行，但是这个比较结构我不太懂“than they would normally eat ” 跟一句话比较？
2.给的解析中说B选项错误有这么一句话“ its referent is unclear (calories? diet?) ” its不是只能指代单数吗？为什么这里还会有指代calories的歧义？

我也正在看这道题，句子的结构不太懂，（D） diet that has at least 30 percent fewer calories than they would normally eat but that otherwise contains all necessary vitamins and nutrients.
结构式diets that has xxx than xxx but that otherwise contains xxx.
has 和 contains都是修饰 diet的吗？那个than 后面的内容与什么比较呢？为啥than后面不是that?

has和contains都是diet的动词，两个that并列，中间的than是说喂它们的calories比它们本来可能会吃的calories少了30%，所以用的是they would，因为比较的是实际喂的和可能会吃的。我觉得一个句子不能去死扣所有的语法点，对比五个选项，D选项不管是从逻辑还是形式来说都是最合理的，其它选项都有更明显的错误，所以就选这个了
