标题: LSAT-27-4-16

16.   Essayist: Wisdom and intelligence are desirable qualities. However, being intelligent does not imply that one is wise, nor does being wise imply that one is intelligent. In my own experience, the people I meet have one or the other of these qualities but not both.

If the essayist’s statements are true, them each of the following could be true EXCEPT:

(A) Most people are neither intelligent, nor wise.

(B) Most people are both intelligent and wise.

(C) No one is both wise and intelligent.

(D) No one is either wise or intelligent.D

(E) Many people are intelligent and yet lack wisdom

答案是D, 但是我觉得是C. 请指点.

原文说No one is both wise and intelligent的情况只是the people I meet,至于我没有Meet就不知拉。故C的情况可能存在,故不是答案。因为我碰到的人 have one or the other of these qualities,故D的情况不存在。为答案。

还是不太明白, "因为我碰到的人 have one or the other of these qualities,故D的情况不存在. " 为什么? 我觉得D就是这句话的另一种表述.

"the people I meet have one or the other of these qualities but not both."

the sentence means:

among the pople i meet, some are intelligent and others are wise, though none of them are both intelligent and wise.

d: No one is either wise or intelligent
