标题: in @ Ivey & Rotman with $$
申请终于结束，开始着手签证的准备了。
从一开始就是目标明确要去加拿大，中间虽然有一段时间一度动摇，想着去美帝也不错，犹豫再三，还是选择了自己一开始的目标。虽然不停有人问我，你分数这么高，工作背景也不错，为什么不去美国？或许加拿大的MBA在许多人眼中含金量要远远低于美国吧，事实也确实如此，加拿大除了最好的两所-Rotman和Ivey，其他的学校在生源，就业，声望上都是远远不及美国的。不过对我来说，想好了自己要什么，比追求别人眼中最好的选择要重要得多。申请上悟出的一个重要道理就是，想好自己真的想要什么，尽自己最大的努力，接受所有可能的结果——经历了这样一个的过程，一年以后，两年以后，十年以后，才不会突然从梦中醒来，难过当初为何没有听清楚自己内心的声音。

打定主意去加拿大，以后要留加工作，并且只去加拿大最好的学校。
申请了Ivey和Rotman的R1，两所都拿到了offer，也算是一段功德圆满的申请之旅。
Ivey在10月16号就给了offer，20K的奖。Rotman11月中旬给了offer，每年15K奖。奖都不算多，在加拿大的学校里来说也还算不抠。综合考虑，拒了Ivey，决定去Rotman。

10月中旬拿到Ivey offer， Rotman还没有消息的时候，小小犹豫了一下。Ivey和Rotman都是加拿大顶尖，Ivey 一年制，case study，偏向GM和consulting；Rotman两年制，传统教学，finance巨擘。就我个人而言，喜欢case study的挑战性，喜欢consulting，讨厌finance，其实心里是喜欢Ivey的。就我的长期目标而言，要留加工作，要拿身份，一年的项目不能帮我实现这个目标。当时跟我妈讨论半天，自己总结出来Ivey就像年轻时候的恋爱对象，特别特别喜欢俩人巨合拍但是没有以后；Rotman就像相亲结婚的对象，不是最爱，但是踏踏实实能陪着你走好长一段路。

Anyway，申请结束了。再过几个月就要踏上新的征程。很开心，很踏实。

别的帖子里已经很清楚的说了自己的背景了，在这里再贴一下，方便申请的童鞋参考。

lz女，88年生，到入学时WE4年整，一直在路透做亚洲市场上市公司新闻相关的工作，兼有数据分析和项目管理。GMAT 760, IELTS 7.5。 本科外交学院（大概水平是收分略低于北大和人大，外交部唯一直属院校，非211非985），专业日语，GPA 3.53。本科在日本交换一年，北京奥运会时做过博茨瓦纳团长助理，其他社会活动也有一些。

楼主，你好。恭喜你呀~真的是好羡慕你们呀~！！！我也是去加拿大的，但是我申请的是约克的finance。到现在还没有拿到offer，mamaster的finance。你的条件是什么呀~我们可以相互讨论下吗？

你好！约克的finance应该不会很难申吧。我不是finance专业的，了解不是很多。如果你想申MBA的话我应该可以有点帮助

还不止一俩呢，每家拿手都不太一样。。不过酸辣粉这么高级的MS没有，不过我这是5年前的消息了，没准餐车也与时俱进了。。 楼主要是实在想念的话的学校距离china town腿着的距离。。。

However by the time you graduate (2016) , PNP is probably not gonna exist any more. You will have to go through EOI if you want to immigrate. Which means you will probably need to find a job.

With that being said, maybe it is actually quite easy to find a job with a Rotman MBA then you'll be fine. At least you get 3 years PGWP

btw I got my pr through pnp with a one year Msc, so it's not like it's impossible. it's totally do-able but requires good planning & some luck.

But if you come straight from china it takes a little time to establish your work experience here so I think rotman is a smart choice. 3 years is more than enough for immigration. But once you get it you realize it's not that big of a deal. Life goes on.

I agree it needs luck. Everything needs a bit of luck but I'm sure being positive and hard working will bring luck to me thank you.

You are working in Canada now?

校友！我想留北美，本科专业日语，如果读不了美国的顶尖商学院，留北美很困难。我也不想去顶尖名校。加拿大相对容易些。
