这个题目答案是D，我有个疑问， The first pulsar, or rapidly spinning collapsed star, to be sighted was observed in the summer of 1967 by graduate student Jocelyn Bell, but the discovery was not announced until February, 1968.
这里的不定式从语义上面怎么理解？to do的结构语义上不是暗指将来吗?这样理解的话句子意思很奇怪？而且这里的逗号也很奇怪，为什么不是:, to be sighted, 这样呢？因为to be sighted是修饰star的吖？为什么后面没有逗号，这样的跟后面的谓语动词连着是为什么呢？

这句话的意思是，第一颗被目击的XX是在1967年被观察到的。
习惯用法：the first XX to do sth
e.g: she is the first woman to receive college education .
至于逗号，spinning collapsed star之前和之后的逗号是一对，这就是个插入语，可以略去不看

这样...之前一直在想直接用sighted不就行了，所以很纠结..原来是idiom

D中but the discovery was not announced until February, 1968要用完成时么？时态上有问题吧？

C为什么错误呢？是因为had done错误吗？不过，这句话后面不是有个before january 1987,这个时间表示的是过去，那么过去的过去，用过去完成时，似乎也没错？
