请问什么叫“claims suggest” 啊？这里的claims 到底是什么意思呢？A surge in new home sales and a drop in weekly unemployment不是已经完整了么？

主语是A surge （in new home sales） and a drop（ in weekly unemployment claims）括号里的是修饰语吖
所以谓语用suggest

unemployment claims可以词典一下这个是个短语
表首次申请失业金补助的人数，所以与suggest 无关
