B) and its superiority over the horse had been
C) and its superiority to the horse
D) its superiority over the horse
E) with its superiority to the horse having been

答案选B
有两个问题：
1.B里面的为什么用had been，我觉得这个过去完成时态的使用并没有特定依据啊？
而C里面and后面从句省略了be动词as，刚好对称完美，为什么不选c？（superiority的介词习惯搭配问题先不考虑）
（依据白勇语法page12页说：两个句子并列，第一个句子含有be动词或者become，第二个句子中的be动词或become必须省略。同时一些重复的名词或形容词也可以省略）

2.once从句和完整SVO可以并列？是因为once从句可以看成一个完整的句子结构？

1 后面一句是过去式，第一句的内容对第二句有影响，而且是在第二句内容的过去发生的，所以是过去完成时
2 once是连词，所以可以连两个完整的句子
