大家知道第一句到底中文是什么意思呢，怎么比较的呢

我理解的是四年前美国的每128个学生有一台电脑。而现在每32个人一台电脑，强调普及程度？

there be句型的逻辑主语应该是在is 后面吧？所以这里比较的是每人多少台，因此主语比较？

直接翻译过来应该是“现在在美国每32个小学生有一台PC，是四年前的四倍”，那么后面为什么用“were”呢，如果这是你不理解的地方，
摘自Manhattan：

Because they are comparing the number of micro computers.

Rephrasing the given sentence in numerical terms -

If there are 640 (32 x20) pupils in the public school, there would be 20 MC, which they are comparing to 5 MC four years ago.

As '5 micro computers' is plural, it is using 'were' and not 'was'
