标题: parallelism里being verbs
From manhattan SC：The flower bouquet was the husband's giving of love to his wife.
这里was两边分别是the flower bouquet and the husband's giving of love，这两个为什么不是structurally parallel?
求高手解答~~~

原句中意图平行的两个成分为bouquet 和 giving，前者是普通名词（plain noun），后者是动名词(gerund)，两者不能 structually parallel。
曼哈顿中提过，动名词（gerund）只能与动名词、或者动作名词（action noun）平行~
