1：:一般所有格代词只能指代所有格名词，不能指代主格和宾格。

EG: Wrong: The board is investigating several executives' compensationpackages in order to

determine how much may have been improperly awarded to THEM.

Right: The board is investigating the compensationpackages of several executives in order to determine how much THESEEXECUTIVES may have been improperly awarded.

Right: The board is investigating the compensationpackages of several executives in order to determine how much THEY mayhave been improperly awarded.

这个they 和them 有什么差别吗？

2：

系动词两边的成分要并列：表达的是“主语是什么／主语在什么情况下”

Wrong: The bouquet offlowers WAS a giving of love.

Right: The bouquet offlowers WAS a gift of love.

Wrong: Upon being nominated, this politicianREPRESENTS a step forward in urban-rural relations in this country.

Right: The nomination of this politicianREPRESENTS a step forward in urban- rural relations in this country.
这儿是说was两边的要并列嘛？但是改过以后也不并列啊·~~
