答案是D，我总是不能理解A跟D到底有什么区别，为什么不能选A呢？

我是这样理解的：
这句话有修饰的歧义：that it can assss.. 根据语义可知，that指代a firm ，但是这里that有指代writing sample的歧义

ls应该是误解，这里A的答案里that只是引导一个从句。
我觉得A最大的问题是,claim that+从句，that和claim应该紧邻。
如果是A firm ... claims that, from a one-page writing sample, it can assess ...语法上应该就对了
