问题：关于A选项：
PREP和RON都说: the sandpipers vanishing的中心词是sandpipers，vanishing只是修饰语，因此sandpipers与后面的is主谓不一致；Ron说如果中心词是vanishing那么sandpipers为所格形式，即the sandpipers’ vanishing；
但是一来OG没有提到主谓不一致这一重要错误;二来OG说OG: Illogically compares “the sandpipers vanishing” to “grassy fields and old pastures.” 如果如PREP和Ron所说中心词是sandpipers，那么比较是logical的，与OG相悖。
RON所讲似乎合情合理，但是与OG相悖，the sandpipers vanishing中的sandpipers不能做noun-adjective吗？

还有一个小问题：仍然关于A选项
去掉sandpipers’ vanishing的撇号，但是句子中没有撇号啊？这是什么情况？

PREP2008说从语法上看development和practices是 parallel elemetns，illogical；
可是我觉得是development和changing是parallel elements，违反了action noun不能和simple gerund phrases平行的原则；

我觉得这道题应该还有考平行结构，and两边的平行结构，这个OG也没有提到。为什么？

OG并不提到所有的语法点，感觉OG现在的解释偏向逻辑和句子结构的解释，附带部分语法点
可以看一下prep，里面几乎包含了涉及到的所有语法点，不过最后还是要回归OG

这是平行的，您可能理解错了。vanishing有名词的意思。sandpipers姑且称为鸟好了。tht sandpipers vanishing 译为鸟的消失，sandpipers 作为名词修饰名词vanishing。 S鸟与field和pasture平行。表示这两类都是工业化的原因造成了消失，可以理解为和草地牧场一样，鸟也在工业化的过程中消失。A选项草地牧场和鸟的消失不能构成平行

我是这样理解的。首先看见like后面跟名词the grassy field and old pastures，那么CDE肯定错。直接排除。

从A和B中选。

那么我们把废话删掉，句子如下：
Like the grassy fields and old pastures, the sandpipers vanishing in the northeastern United States is a result of residential and industrial development and of changes in farming practices.
或者
Like the grassy fields and old pastures, the bird itself is vanishing in the northeastern United States as a result of residential and industrial development and of changes in farming practices.

个人浅见如下：
A选项的主语（ the sandpipers vanishing）跟 the grassy fields and old pastures 不平行。
如果把 vanishing in the northeastern United States 看做sand pipers的修饰语，那就出现了楼主说的主谓不一致的情况。A也不对。

两种观点我认为并不互斥。

为什么Like后面能接从句呢？like 不是只能接名词或者名词性短语么？

首先感谢您阅读我的意见，如果没有理解错误的话，我的浅见如下:
like 后面的grassy fields and old pastures其实就是一个名词。这个名词后面的that修饰这个名词。

不知道我是否理解正确。

不好意思来挖一下
我想把这道题简化为：Like the grassy fields(that bird needs for nesting)(when it returns), the bird itself is vanishing....
我老师告诉我直接根据红字部分it，就可以判断之后的主语要用单数，然后这道题就只能选b了，我有点想不通，这道题后面的两个括号不都是用来修饰fields 的吗？可以根据修饰里面的单复数信息来决定后面句子主语单复数吗？
求NN解答

E的错误是这句话根本就没有谓语。
