In thepresent day, teamwork is majority which means effective communication isinevitable. Although resolving differences on the phone or voice-message can bemore direct, emotional and convenient, I would go for e-mail or texting messageconsidering their efficiency and effectiveness from the following reasons.

First, e-mailand texting message tend to give both sides more private space which make theirdebate less attractive. When it come to a upsetting or controversial problem,people are easily become self-centered, impatient and irritated ignoringreasonable parts of the other side’s viewpoint. So with e-mail or textingmessage, they are able to get access to calmness, full-developed ideaexpressions, careful reviews, and a final agreement. I actually got benefitfrom typed words by my experience.

Once a time,I was made as the captain of a volunteer team serving the celebration of the 60thanniversary of my university. A girl, a member of my team named July, called mesaying she was unsatisfied with her appointment and blamed it on my partialityto my friends. I was totally roiled by almost every her word. Both of us startedto shout at the cellphones defending ourselves and barely listen to each other.At the moment our cooperation is on the verge of breakup, I suddenly realizedwe need to calm down to get out of this mess. So I said goodbye timely and hungup the phone. Maybe I should take parts of responsibilities for a lack of clearannouncement, which was what came to my mind the moment I put down the phone. Itexted her explaining that all work is arranged randomly hardly involving meand her part also had some advantages that would help her make progress. Thegirl’s reply expressed her apology and point out I might misunderstand her insome aspects, which reminded me I was somehow too defensive. Finally, it turnedout we got settled problem and great friendship. Therefore, it is what e-mailor texted message can bring us that the opportunity to review thingsobjectively, concern for others and resolve the predicament.

Second, comparedto telephone or voice message, e-mail or texting message is available to eachsides anytime. They can choose when to send it or when to read it, even spendmore time to think about their words to show their respect and deepconsideration, while do not need to worry about disturbing the other one for differentschedules and making the tense situation worse. Such as I would like to studyin library in the morning quietly, but a voice from phone might totally ruinit, especially from a person I was made at for the same upsetting thing. Iwould rather deal with it in a relaxed mood alone offering me room to thinkover it.

Moreover,within an e-mail or texting message they can add other elements beside words, like a cute icon or a beautiful background relaxing the atmosphere or cheer them up. My sister, Susan is particularly good at this. She was the leader of her mid-term assignment group, but a boy always delayed his parts with various excuses and turned a deaf ear to other members' complaint leaving them angry. One day, when the boy's work seemed to be stuck again over the deadline, Susan send him a message saying "Can I have your work?" accompanied by a lovely pleading look icon. Shortly the boy handed in his outcome and texted Susan that "So sorry for the delay, especially when you treat me so kindly." Though my sister is upset about him, her message smartly covered it up and made the boy feel warm.

In conclusion, to discuss upsetting or controversial problems with others isreally a tough task, with e-mail or texted message is to be better for us tosolve it in an reasonable and intelligent way.
