是关于chaco houses 的用途的

the lecture tells us thatnone of these three explanations is possible because of some other evidences.

first of all, the lecturesays that if this structure was for the use of living, then there isn't enoughfiring places. since this structures can hold approximately as much as 100families, there are only about 10 firing places for them to cook. so itcouldn't be purely residential.

secondly, there is noevidence shows that there were a lot of maize in that structure. because of thelack of evidence, it is possible to say that it were used to store foodsuppies. but if these structures werereally used to store foods, then we should discover a lot of maize inside thosestructure which in fact we don't. so it seems unreasonable to say that wereused to stored food supplies by finding no much maize left there.

what's more, the lectureargues that the mound found inside the structures was left by construtionworkers as waste and the pot could also be the trash left by workers. so thepresence of mound and pots doesn't provide stronge evidence that these houseswere used as ceremonial centers.

in conclusion, thelecture provides some other evidences and explantions for the finding insidethe chaco houses to contradict all three possible explanation about thefunction of the chaco houses.
