答案是D。不是说and also 出现就是错的嘛？为何D能够成立？？？

and also是非常常见的用法，不知道为什么说它出现就是错呢？从语法上来讲and作为并列连词后边跟上一个副词也没有必错的道理。
我在想可能是因为大家遇到过not only and also结果错了，所以不恰当的归结为gmat中and also是错误的吧。
以上只是猜想……

谢谢熊长~~ and also 我以前曾见过一些人总结说是可疑的，但估计这个不是什么严重的错误吧。这一点上我就不纠结了。又遇见你了。感觉好亲切。

这都是词典里的例句，and also何来可疑之说呢，

He teaches music and also composes.
他教音乐,也作曲.
来自《简明英汉词典》
2. This is due to the enemy's underestimation of China and also to his shortage of troops.
这是由于敌人对中国估计不足而来的,也有他自己兵力不足的原因.

千万不要把and also当成了同意重复，或者是wordy那就大错特错了
最好能回头找到原来的总结，详加比对，找出真正的错误。语法这个东西总是反复锤炼，很多题原来会做后来不会做了就在于此，因为以前的总结可能是错误的。

我觉得“可能不是很严重的错误”这样的说法不好，一个语法点要么不去学习，要么就尽可能的搞懂。尤其是在看似相互矛盾的时候更是学习语法的最好时机。

以上仅仅是个人观点，希望楼主捡有用的采纳

嗯，OG13 语法第46题， D选项的解释是 "and also" is awkwardly set apart from main claim. OG13 第53题的B选项的解释是 and also his envisioning is unnesessarily wordy. 所以我是根据以上两点总结and also 就好别连用的。那么用and 就别用also 不知是不是我把OG解释理解错了。

我也没有OG什么的资料，在网上找了一下第一题；

In ancient Thailand，much of the local artisans' creative energy was expended for the creation ofBuddha images and when thev constructed and decorated the temples that enshrined them。

注意；and 是一个并列连词，also是一个副词，所以加起来还是一个并列连词。你看看上边所有的and also的用法是不是这样？
但是D中是缺少一个并列连词吗？当然不是 !! 原意绝不是说造神像花费了精力，建设，和装修，这地球人完全不能理解了。这里是创作，建设和装修花费精力，所以这里才有了OG说它"and also" is awkwardly set apart from main claim。因为它和主句这算那门子关系？如果非要改我到觉得and also 改成so do ……。倒装句，（创作它们花费了大量精力，建设和装修它们何尝不是如此？）当然我们并不深究这个。总而言之and also在这里是因为它的使用不恰当，而不是它的搭配

最后再来分析一下OG这句话 "and also" is awkwardly set apart from main claim。
awkwardly （方式状语修饰set apart）这里是说“and also”被糟糕的和主句分开，而不是说and also很糟糕。
如果要说“and also"搭配有问题，我认为应该这样说；”And also" is awkward in itself

至于第二题我想也是大同小异，因为无论如何and also 是一个从内到外不带半点错误的搭配，如果始终认为gmat有这样那样的特殊的规则就会跟着OG的解释到处乱跑。

我记得ron说过 and also 不是错误的rule 但是除了both and 里的也即除了both 楼主应该不要视它为split

OG的解释让人增加不了任何知识，是个食之无味，弃之可惜的鸡肋。OG is awkward in itself 才对

呵呵，没看过《PREP2008语法笔记》吧？下面是里面对D选项的解释的一部分：
在这里如果去掉了also反而不好了，如果就X and Y，一般是用于指两个不同的人，如果有了also，一般指的是对同一个对象的两个描述，不过去掉also问题也不大；

and also在很多情况下显得罗嗦，但是OG并没有在任何地方说过and also只要出现就一定错。
