答案给出的是D选项，我的问题有两个，1） 小弟排除了ABC选项，但对于D很纠结。我做题时排除它的理由是，that在从句中不充当任何成分，所以可以断定是一个名词性从句，而名词性从句前面通常接一个抽象名词，hopes 是一个具体名词，所以D是错的。不知道我的判断对吗？ 2) 小弟第一次考 ，想选一个合适的日子考GMAT，不知道各位G友预测9 月和10 月 换裤时间？ 想赶在10月换裤之后考，求高人指点。作者: georgechang1025 时间: 2013-8-25 21:43

同第一次准备考，选在了10月底，不知道楼主考了没有。
关于这道题目，我倒觉得hope是一个抽象名词，而且关于这类的题目，一般用E类的修饰会显得awkward,而用that从句D更clear&concise.
并且E选项manhattan论坛上有讨论说meaning in E = we hope for the existence of a recovery (not quite the same thing)而 intended meaning =we hope that a recovery has begun;所以出现meaning错误
