551.Once positioned in space, the Hubble Space Telescope will capture light from sources twenty times fainter compared to those that can be detected by ground-based instruments.

(A) compared to those that can be detected

(B) compared to those they can detect

(C) than that can be detected

(D) than those that can be detected

(E) than those detecting
这个虽然选D，虽然C确实成分不完整，但是想问一下，这个正确答案为什么用 those呢？难道比的是ｓｏｕｒｃｅ？　但是ｓｏｕｒｃｅ能用ｆａｉｎｔｅｒ来修饰吗？讲不通呢？

those确实是说的sources，但是并不是比的就是sources，比的是capture到的light。我觉得会不会是than （from） those that can be detected 呢？

我查了一下之前问这题的贴，以下的解释是我认为比较说得通的。。这样看来those就是指代的sources。这里指光源，当然可以fainter啦~

1、C项的确错，正确应为，than that that can be detected.

2、those必然是指代sources，前面根本没有lights出现，只有light，that或者those单独出来指代的时候，指代的东西在前面是必然要出现才可以的。

3、至于逻辑问题，我刚开始也感觉应该选C，应该light与light比较。但看了这么多评论再想想后，觉得应该是惯性思维的错误，这题应该并不是光与光的比较。这句话翻译出来应该是这样子：

HST可以检测到来自比GBIs能检测到的弱20倍的光源的光。

so……D正确

PS，如果C项改为than that that can be detected，我觉得还是C项更好。更符合我们正常的思维吧

恩恩，我也是这样想的，相比而言，D确实已经是较好选项了
