标题: 求问which可不可以引导非限制性定语从句
如题，求大神啊！！在GMAT中which到底可不可以引导非限制性定语从句？不是说which不可以指代整句话吗,所以应该不能修饰非限制性定语从句吧？

前天才子manhattan上看见如下
Non-essential:This mansio,which has been recently painted red,is owned by the Lees.
Essential: The mansion that has been painted red is owned by the Lees
所以which 应该是可以引导非限制性定语从句但是隐约我觉得之前好像哪里看到说不可以代替整个句子刚才查了下高中的知识引导非限制性定语从句不代表就是代表整个句子的个人看法哈不知道对错

我认为还是要根据句义和逻辑判断which修饰谁如果是指代前面整句话，那是错的 which不能指代前面整件事个人感觉

你说“引导非限制性定语从句不代表就是代表整个句子的”

定语从句从定义上讲，是在句中做定语，修饰一个名词或代词。所以如果是定语从句，就一定不可能是修饰“整个句子”
........., which的结构，一般情况下一定是定语从句，所以一定不可以修饰前面整个句子

你说记得在哪见过，是Manhttan语法书Modifier一章 Which vs. the Present Participle 一节

哦最后那句话谢谢了不过我查了非限制性定语从句的百度百科有这么一句话——which引导的非限制性定语从句　关系代词which在非限制性定语从句中所指代和修饰的可以是主句中的名词、形容词、短语、其他从句或整个主句

个人认为看句意，可以跳过也可以不跳过

在GMAT中，that 不能引导非限制性定语从句，但是which可以引导非限制性定语从句。

非限制性定语从句前面有逗号隔开的，限制性定语从句前面不能有逗号隔开。

which【只能】修饰紧跟它前面的【名词】

看句意，可以是前面的也可以是后面的。which可以跳跃介词

对于which 为什么不能引导非限制性定语从句，我也抱有怀疑，最多认为是GMAT的专属语法考虑吧。

BUT 对你说的这句，我先给你普及下常识 “定语从句从定义上讲，是在句中做定语，修饰一个名词或代词。所以如果是定语从句，就一定不可能是修饰“整个句子”

你这句话愚蠢在哪里？定语从句就是做定语是对的，但是有特例，这里涉及另外一个术语：叫做关系分句，严格意义上来说，定语从句是从关系分句割裂出来的，专业的英语语法里，是分关系分句和非限制性关系分句的，而关系分句不仅仅只有定语的意思，还可以表述其他意思例如
It is in line with the Charter, which recognizes the value of regional efforts to solve problems.
这句话里，which的指代是 the charter，但是他不是定语成分，而更像是表原因。这就是关系分句的概念，不仅仅是定语的概念，语义上已经变成状语了。

而你所谓的定语从句是修饰的，那么整个句子当做一个整体的时候、一个集合的概念的时候，定语既然是修饰成分的，怎么可能不能修饰一个整体概念？小朋友别偷梁换柱了

实在太多了，后面的我也不找了，为什么这些句子都是非限定性定语从句？我怎么记得是which一般引导非限定性定语从句，that一般引导限定性定语从句？

状语是修饰动词、形容词、副词等，我从没听说状语能修饰名词；
你说which的指代是 the charter 也就是which后面都是用来修饰the Charter，那么不就是定语吗？

这句话翻译过来是 “它与recognizes the values 的Charter in line” 这不是典型的定语从句吗？
