标题: 求好心人帮忙解答一下这道OG语法题～
OG12-42 Scientists have recently discovered what could be the largest and oldest living organism on Earth, a giant fungus that is an interwoven filigree of mushrooms and rootlike tentacles spawned by a single fertilized spore some 10,000 years ago and extending for more than 30 acres in the soil of a Michigan forest.

(B) extends
(C) extended
(D) it extended
(E) is extending

本体答案选A，extending和spwaned平行并且作定语修饰tentacles，这些我都能理解。
但是OG上的这句解释让我很茫然“Spawned refers to something that happened in the past, while extending refers to something that continues into the present. ”
在我的理解看来“tentacles spawned by ... and extending for ..." 还原成完整的句子应当是 "tentacles are spawned by ... and extend for ..."
我的理解和官方解释中的“spawned发生在过去，extending表示持续到现在”偏差还是很大的
求各位大神帮我解答下我的疑惑～小弟不胜感激～

-ing 形式表明从过去到现在一直进行。而且原文强调的是一种对比，从过去那个点到现在的对比。句子结构：a giant fungus that is an interwoven filigree ... spawned ..AND. extending... ; spawned 表示被动extending 表示主动都是修饰这个an interwoven filigree 的。现在分词可以和过去分词并列，功能相同即可平行，都是做定语。
还是不明白lz哪里不明白

我能明白spawned与extending平行，并且作定语修饰filigree
但是我对v-ed作定语的理解是 v与被修饰词是被动关系；v-ing作定语是 v与被修饰词是主动关系
我不理解的是这句解释“Spawned refers to something that happened in the past, while extending refers to something that continues into the present. ”
这样对于v-ed和v-ing 的解释我第一次见... 总感觉这句解释是错的...是这个意思

og应该没有错，但是我学识尚浅，不懂具体怎么解释。直接举个例子吧
He found the fire burning brightly. 主动

He found the house burned down. 被动

这个...我的理解和你一样，也是主动被动
但是OG这句话明显不是啊“Spawned refers to something that happened in the past, while extending refers to something that continues into the present. ”

大意举错例子了。看这个。。
Developing country
Developed country
刚刚查了下资料，它们有三个不同的地方，
1、动作正在进行/已经完成
2、主动/被动
3、过去分词表示被修饰名词的状态。现在分词表示所修饰的名词的性质特征。

不过那你说以后碰到这种题是以“主被动”还是以“正在进行or已经完成”来判断呢？

我觉得这种题很少，遇到再看句意吧
