我觉得这两个的情况还是不同的...would have to know a great deal more than they do now about the social and economic这里前后补全是demographers would have to know a great deal more than they know now about the social and economic。而后一题是Heating-oil prices are expected to be higher this year than the heating-oil prices last year.这里前后subject相同，比较的就是不同时间段的这个东西本身，省略没问题；但是前面比的不是demographers本身啊，所以谓语动词不能省略要补出，动词补了主语肯定不能跑了，所以就都补出了。两个不一样吧
