(B) scientists had learned about making a synthetic growth hormone, they had to remove it painstakingly
(C) scientists learned how to synthesize the growth hormone, it had to be painstakingly removed
(D) learning how to make a synthetic growth hormone, scientists had to remove it painstakingly
(E) learning how to synthesize the growth hormone, it had to be painstakingly removed by scientists

这道题我在C、D之间徘徊，最终因为主动优于被动选择了D。。。但是答案是C，笔记上说D选项的it指代a synthetic growth hormone不符合逻辑，可是我看不出C和D逻辑上的任何区别啊，还望大神指点！

CD的it有明显指代的区别，C中的it指代the growth hormone，而D中指代a synthetic growth hormone，就其句子含义来说，这两个意思是完全不一样的，LZ可以种中文句意理解一下就能明白为什么选C不选D了。

第一点，请忘记主动优于被动。这个在大量的实战题中证明是错误的结论。
第二，这条题的考点是the growth hormone和a synthetic growth hormone
前者是泛指，后者是特指。主要因为多了一个形容词
所以合成的东西就无法再尸体中找到了。

当然可以钻牛角尖说前面用了the所以也是指合成的。那就没有办法了，可以去找GMAC申诉这个问题。

同意。
C. it 指代的是生长激素，生长激素需要从植物中提取，句意明确
D. it 指代的是合成生长激素，合成生长激素是人工合成的，植物中是纯天然的，不一样，句意错啦~
