正确答案是a, 我能够理解D 选项did是错误的并且flourishing在这不该用（因为当要强调verb tense的时候that引导从句是不能改成ving的）。但是抛开这道题的时态不考虑，如果civilization后面接了flourishing 的话，那flourishing词性是什么？是动词吗还是形容词啊？我对于这个ving的词性及用法这块一直搞不清。。。。求各位大神赐教！！

是adj phrase 因为前面没有comma 所以修饰前面的noun

噢谢谢啦～！另外还有个地方不懂：
Five fledgling sea eagles left their nests in western Scotland this summer, bringing to 34 the number of wild birds successfully raised since transplants from Norway began in 1975. 这里的这个bringing是个什么词性啊？谢谢～

是adv phrase 修饰 perceding clause ，这里表示前面动作的结果

噢可是副词短语感觉一般不是“ly”这样的词吗？ving也可以做副词吗？还是不太懂。。求扫盲。。。
