标题: 求助：Foundations of GMAT Verbal 主谓一致问题
最近在看姐姐推荐的Foundations of GMAT Verbal，看到P67一句话，总觉得主谓不一致，为什么后半句的谓语是is不是are???
请大家帮忙解惑，感激不尽！！！

To run with the wolves on thirty consecutive cold winter mornings in Minsk, Belarus, is to truely strenghen your spirit in just one month; to drink nothing but cold moutain water and eat nothing but goat meat for thirty days in any of the former Soviet republics is to truely strenghen your character in a similarly spartan manner.

我是这样想的：
主语：to drink nothing but cold moutain water and eat nothing but goat meat
因为to drink nothing but cold mountain 和 (to) eat nothing but goat meat 是平行的，也就是A and B，所以谓语应该是are.

我觉得应该这样看 to （drink nothing but cold moutain water and eat nothing but goat meat）括号里的是一个平行结构，整个在to 结构里面~你觉得呢～

谢谢回复！您说的有道理，但是我觉得自己的想法也没错啊，语法实在不怎么样，越想越糊涂。下次怎样分析这种句子呢？

what does this sentence mean ?

认为这位同学说法无误。

PS：发现foundaiton of verbals这本书写的太好了。虽然才开始看简单的nouns pronouns adj, adverb ,verb ,prepositions ...但是感觉已经很舒服很舒服了，知道了怎么样去轻松的分析一个复杂的句子。

这个，，如果这里改一下：

to drink nothing but cold moutain water and to eat nothing but goat meat for thirty days in any of the former Soviet republics is( here should be are) to truely strenghen your character in a similarly spartan manner.

am i right

对的！　因为如果你to... and to... (这就是一个compound noun了---->看做一个复数的主语）所以需要复数的谓语~ ^^

不过我觉得你这样改着不好~ 因为这是一个be 动词连接的，所以， be的前后最好是平行的。作为系动词，这也是隐喻着需要注意前后平行。 to... is to.... 这样是不是更加完美工整一些呢？

我也觉得这本书很好，是入门的好材料。

这句话我是这样理解的：当遇到动词或者是主语的时候，介词短语就结束了。因为介词短语有时候非常冗长，很难看出，它是在教你正确找出找出介词短语。而且介词短语当中一定不会出现动词和主语，所以这个方法可以帮助我们很快找到core sentence哦。

说的有道理，结合P67最下面那个变态的长句可以看出，很好的识别介词短语是否结束的方式。。。。

我说的这个系动词平行的结构也是GAMT的一个很重要的考点~　这和逻辑语意经常搭配在一起考的。　有个意识就好啦～　　　最容易犯错的就是　　　the term is sth... 这就是错的。 is 要改成 refers to .. 我这是一个最简单的例子~　ｍａｎｈａｔｔａｎＳＣ里面有详解～
