Choice B is correct.

选项E时态不对，除此之外，as--- as结构中，第二个as后省略they are，对吗？

另外，in his own time 用法比较熟悉，但是我没有查到to his own time的用法，这种用法对吗？

请NN们来看看。今天发了几个帖子都没有人理，郁闷。

不是NN. 我觉得不可以省略. 如果省略, 后面补足就表示were as disturbing to his own time as (they were)..那么时态就不对了.

to his own time. 觉得可能这里介词不是考点, 别的更重要.

如果省略, E补足就是have been as disturbing to his own time as (they have been)..那么时态就不对了。

in和to是和his own time成意群的，不是disturb搭配，disturb是及物动词。

这里是动词吗？那就是过去进行时，与现在进行时并列？

意思是对他那个时代的影响，和对我们现在正在作用的影响？为什么要用过去进行时呢？

a disturbing increase in the crime rate

compelling- very interesting or exciting, so that you have to pay attention引人注目的
