Rye sown in the fall and plowed into the soil in early
spring leaves a residue that is highly effective at
controlling broad-leaved weeds, but unfortunately for
only about forty-five days. No major agricultural crop
matures from seed in as little as forty-five days.
Synthetic herbicides, on the other hand, although not
any longer-lasting, can be reapplied as the crop grows.
Clearly, therefore, for major agricultural crops, plowing
rye into the soil can play no part in effective weed
control.
The argument is most vulnerable to the objection that
it fails to
consider that there might be minor, quickgrowing
crops that do mature in forty-five days
or less
identify any alternative method of weed control
that could be used instead of the method it
rejects
distinguish among the various kinds of synthetic
herbicides
allow for the possibility of combining the two
weed-control methods it mentions
allow for the possibility that plants other than
rye, handled the same way, might have the same
effect

答案是D。A为什么不对啊，如果有段时间成熟的crop那rye不就是有用吗？

这位同学你没看清题目哈, Clearly, therefore, for major agricultural crops, plowing rye into the soil can play no part in effective weed control.人家Arguement说的就是对于主要农作物没有用。A选项说那对此要农作物有用呢？我这考虑的就是主要农作物，我都不种次要农作物，次要农作物可以快速生长有什么用。希望可以解答你的问题~~

提一下个人意见，望指正。。
statement里面说的是"No major"，不是绝对用词，只是说大部分crop都不在那个时段内成熟，等于是承认还是有小部分crop在这个时段内成熟的（只是没有明说），也就是其实没有fail to consider A，相反，是已经consider到A的可能性了的。
