The growing popularity of computer-based activities
was widely expected to result in a decline in television
viewing, since it had been assumed that people lack
sufficient free time to maintain current televisionviewing
levels while spending increasing amounts of
free time on the computer. That assumption, however,
is evidently false: In a recent mail survey concerning
media use, a very large majority of respondents
who report increasing time spent per week using
computers report no change in time spent watching
television.

答案是E. 我能够理解为什么是E，但是不明白为什么A不行。如果说有些人平时很少看电视的话（比如：一个星期一次），那么看电脑时间的增长怎么影响他看电视（他几乎不看）。

1. 无论你看电视的频率是多久，都需要花时间。你无法说因为频率低所以看电脑的时间上升就是其他活动而并非看电视的时间。

谢谢。但是我的理解能力了不行，没有看太懂啊

假设你空闲时间每周20小时，看电视1小时，原来用电脑5小时，那么当你用电脑6小时的时候，这1小时由其他15小时平坦，看电视时间被缩短到14/15小时。

注意文中提到的两个概念，time on using computer和free time on using computer是不同的概念，前者既包括用电脑来玩的时间（即free time on computer）也包括用电脑来工作做事的时间~ assumption中提到的是free time，而survey中调查的却是总的using time。所以如果要判断可不可以用survey去支持assumption，就需要判断这两个概念是否等同，即E中所说，survey中的使用电脑的时间是否只是用来玩的时间，还是包括了用电脑来工作的时间区分概念是常考点哦~

   首先，确定一下结论：休闲时间内，电脑不挤占电视。
   削弱题里有一种特殊题型，类比。只要指出类比两者间的差异，并且在结论范围之内，就可以削弱。
这题有类比的味道：用调查的背景类比他人结论的背景，企图用同因异果来反对前面的结论。但，不可类比：前面的结论是，在休闲时间内，电脑挤占电视；而调查的结论应为：在全部时间里，电脑没有挤占电视。时间范围不同。
   至于你说的A选项，我觉得可以用og的解释理解。本题结论的重点在于，电脑与电视的相对变化量，即电脑增加的情况下，电视是否减少。所以我们并不关心它们各自的绝对量。你可能要问，如果被调查的人平时都不看电视，是否存在样本有效性的问题。对于这个问题，被调查的所有人都不看电视是不实际的，这么考虑有点钻牛角尖了。那么如果样本的大部分人都不怎么看电视呢？不影响结论。无论是多数人看电视，还是多数人不看电视，都是不可避免的，因为就算我们不取样本，整个社会整体中大家的看电视情况也是参差不齐的。我们关心的是一个平均水平。这个样本中，无论看电视的还是不看电视的，大部分反映看电视时间没有减少，就足够代表一个平均水平了。
   但还是那句话，这道题的关键点在于变化量而非绝对量。
