原题是Over the courseof the eighteenth century, the average output of ironwork tripled as a resultof several improvements in blowing machinery and because coal replaced charcoalas the fuel used in the smelting of iron ore.

其中，B选项是Over the course of the eighteenth century [url=]a tripling inthe average output of ironwork was due to[/url] the replacement of charcoal by coal for the fuel used in the smelting of ironore, in addition to several improvements in blowing machinery.

解释说“ [url=]a tripling in 是错误的表达，但是我在perp2008的238题（GWD-4-4）的补充说明中又说这种表达方式如果后面是output之内的话也是正确的，那么到底B选项错在哪里呢？目前个人觉得可能是“in addition to”错了~~[/url]

我只见过 a tripling of这样的表达，因此很难说a tripling in 是不是对。但in addition to这样放在后面单独表达肯定错了。
