(A) surround the laceName>San JoaquinlaceName> laceType>ValleylaceType> town bustles with farm workers, many of them


(B) surrounds the laceName>San JoaquinlaceName> Valley town bustles with farm workers, many of whom are


(C) surround the San Joaquin Valley town bustles with farm workers, many of who are


(D) surround the San Joaquin Valley town bustle with farm workers, many of which（A）


(E) surrounds the San Joaquin Valley town bustles with farm workers, many are


本来这道题是做对了的，但是今天仔细想了一想，觉得有些不大对头：


the patchwork of green fields that surround the San Joaquin Valley town bustles with farm workers


因为在我自己总结的过程中认为，限定性定从修饰的是其前面的中心词，即前方结构的


词，这里如果the patchwork of green fields 中，the patchwork是主词，则that应该修饰它，


如果green fields是主词的话，后边的bustle也应该修饰fields而取复数形式。


我是单纯从语法上考虑。真的是越想越迷糊，走火入魔了。


哪位帮我分析一下我的想法中的谬误之处。不胜感谢！！！

其中that限制性定语从句修饰the patchwork of green fields，谓语动词由主词patchwork而定，取单数。哪位帮忙看看。谢谢！

A of B that 结构中，that所指代的对象由逻辑意思决定，既可以是A，也可以是B，而不是只修饰中心词

还是不清楚，the patchwork of green fields that surround the laceName>San JoaquinlaceName> laceType>ValleylaceType> town 该怎么翻译呢？怎么判断surround the laceName>San JoaquinlaceName> laceType>ValleylaceType> town一定是修饰green fields, pathcwork就不能在surround这个town呢？？

我认为B不好。（1）按逻辑意思that应修饰 green fields, 翻译如下（别见笑）：环绕SJV镇的绿野上的梯田...,that 从句定义green fields 的归属或地点。（2）many of whom are in the area just for the season. 没有独立主格结构简洁：many of them in the area just for the season.

我理解的(the patchwork of green fields)是"小块的绿色田野", 不知道patchwork有梯田的意思.  但觉得按我的理解也没什么不好啊......可能我太转牛角尖了..
