标题: 请教各位一个manhattan上第一个问题，that指代的问题
Although William Pereira first gained national recognition for his movie set designs, including those for the 1942 film “Reap the Wild Wind,” future generations will remember him as the architect of the Transamerica Tower, the Malibu campus of Pepperdine University, and the city of Irvine.

在书上的解答之中，判断到最后只剩下d和e的时候直接说those指代的是movie set designs这个，不太明白呀为什么我不能说that指代的national recognition呢？？是不是就是因为如果变成这个的话改变的原文的意思呢？语法上有他错误的地方嘛？that可以跳跃指代的吧？

同时想在这里请教各位一下1：that在什么情况之下可以省略呢？
2：在og里面好像看到一句the year that ,这里的that可以变成when嘛？
3：that one it 三个东西的指代中，that one 好像就不能直接作为名词主语使用，其中that要求是之前出现过的new copy，那么以上面一个题目为例子，that指代的是 national recognition嘛？还是 national recognition for his movie set designs。好像加上for后面的那个是it的用法是吧- -

看了几天书好多知识点有点混乱，希望各位大神能给个解答！谢谢了！！！

句子的逻辑意思，貌似是designs for film,而不是national recognition吧，所以，designs 复数要用those的

同意， those是指代designs，所以不应该用that

LZ, 照你的意思，句子可以改成“including national recognition for the 1942 film “Reap the Wild Wind”。
变成这个movie“reap the wild wind”获得了national recognition——这个movie除了movie set designs以外和William Pereira没有一点关系——然后这个movie获得的recogonition和WP的设计的建筑获得的recognition去比较？完全对不上嘛！

that在两种情况下可以省略：引导宾语从句及作为定语从句的先行词时。该文并没有这两类从句的出现
