标题: significant和significantly在意思上有区别吗？
Executives and federal officials say that the use of crack and cocaine is growing rapidly among workers, significantly compounding the effects of drug and alcoholabuse, which already are a cost to business of more than $100 billion a year.

此题选B，其他没啥问题，倒是significantly compounding 和significant in compounding是不是一个意思啊？
significantly 重大地，重要地
significant 重要的，显著的

我忘了是在哪里看到的说

significant与significantly在意思上有区别

significant表示重要的；significantly表示程度上很大地；注意替换会改变原文意思

我是过来求证一下的！！！！

significantly和significant不是一个意思，significantly表示显著地，significant表示重要的, gmat经常会考这个的区别

我觉得这里的意义区别主要不是来自取 adj. 和 adv. 的差别：
因为significant也有显著的含义：
ADJ - A significant amount or effect is large enough to be important or affect a situation to a noticeable degree. 重大的; 显著的

但题目里面的确有意义上的变化，我认为是来自于修饰结构的变化
significantly compounding 这里说 compounding 的结果是显著的
significant in compounding 里，significant 和 in的用法我没有找到，那就只能是significant修饰逗号前的名词，in compounding 作为一个状语。“在混合的过程中体现了工人的重要性？”这已经完全混乱了

而C、E后面and带来的问题就更为明显了

significant 和 significantly 的区别:前者意思较广泛,有意义重大,重要等意思,而后者则意思明确,只
表示程度
It comes from note of prep sc , but I do not know whether it is correct.
