People have long been fascinated by the paranormal. Over the years, numerous researchers have investigated telepathy only to find that conclusive evidence for its existence has persistently evaded them. Despite this, there are still those who believe that there must be “something in it” since some research seems to support the view that telepathy exist. However, it can often be shown that other explanations that do comply with known laws can be given. Therefore, it is premature to conclude that telepathy is an alternative means of communication.

In the passage, the author

conclusion here: it is premature to conclude that telepathy is an alternative means of communication.说telepathy存在为时尚早。为何能得出这个结论，作者通过说尽管试验能够发现一些现象，但总有合理的解释说明这些现象不支持telepathy存在，即证据不足，不能做“有罪推定”
B. describe particular experiments没有
C. overgeneralize...don't think so
D. not supported by the premise...don't think so
E. without offering any support...don't think so

某些现象，科学家想用telepathy来解释，因此other explanations对应的就是非telepathy的解释，而这些非telepathy解释是与given laws吻合的。i.e. 某些现象，既可以用已知的科学知识解释的通，也可以按照某些科学家认为的用telepathy解释，因此作者认为telepathy存在的证据不足。反过来说，如果一些现象，按已知的任何理论都无法解释，那么telepathy存在的可能性就大大增加了，因为它是唯一可能的解释。

分析得很透彻，我把other explanations 理解成“另外的一些解释能够与已知的规定相符合”，而前面所提到的some research seems to support the view that telepathy exist应该是不能够与已知的规定相符合的，所以作者会在结论中认为telepathy还不是一种交流形式。
