Dear Mr. Chen,

The Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering has carefully considered your master’s degree graduate application for the fall 2013 semester. Our department received a large number of outstanding applications from prospective students and it is impossible to accommodate all those who apply. While we were impressed with your credentials, we have completed our incoming class. Your application was on our waiting list until we heard back from the students we offered admission to.

· We referred your application to the Healthcare Systems Engineering (HSE) program for possible consideration. You may have heard directly from that program to see if you are interested.

I regret to inform you we were not able to offer you admission to your first choice program. We wish you success in the pursuit of your educational goals.
